Biomass announce new joint venture with Stadtwerke

01/01/2006

Biomass, the UK based renewable energy solutions supplier, have just announced a new joint venture with Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, one of Germany’s most progressive utility companies. The partnership will see the development of a large number of Biomass gasification plants in Düsseldorf region of Germany.

The majority of these new plants will be fuelled with woodchip and will be used to provide electricity or Combined Heat and Power (CHP) where required. The first of these plants is currently under construction on a site in Wildhausen and will be commissioned in May 2006.

Stadtwerke Düsseldorf selected Biomass as its partner in this project following an extensive evaluation of other potential suppliers of gasification systems from across Europe.

Jim Campion, Managing Director of Biomass says, “I am extremely pleased to have entered into this partnership. It will allow us to extend our operations into new territories and continue to develop our work alongside such a well respected company”
